Gingerbread Houses

Every year for a really long time we have gotten together at my mom's house with "The Woodbury's" and made gingerbread houses. I really didn't take many pictures in the act, but these are the finished projects....

I love that Madison is so patient with Brayd and will let him hang out with her.

This picture was taken before Aunt Heather broke Ry's house. He was o.k. with it and Heather felt bad. All we need is a little hot glue and it will be as good as new. Heather was just trying to "Help".

Porter is cute. I love that he is such a BOY!!! I don't always say that but right now my dad took Ryan and Porter. Brayden is sleeping. AHHHHHH! Cute house Porter!

Look at that, I even got a picture of Madison!!!! She is such a perfectionist and it really came out tonight as she was working on her house. Good Job Baby Girl!!

Before all the gingerbread stuff broke out we carried our our second year of the sweet tradition of Rice Pudding. While in Denmark Russ and Aaron both came to enjoy the stuff. So, as the Danish Tradition goes you hide an almond in the rice pudding and whoever finds it gets the surprise.

Brayd was a good helper with the rice pudding. He kept wanting to stir and would get angry when I wouldn't let him.

And the results were.........

Alan won for the kids. He received a 10 dollar bill!
Bud won for the ladies. She got 20 dollars to Wal-mart
and
Paul won for the dudes. He got the sweet 20 dollars to Red Robin

I should have got a picture, but I failed to.....

The 12 Days of Christmas

ON THE SECOND DAY OF CHRISTMAS......

My true love gave to me........

This morning I found in the fridge a book and a c.d.

Aaron was so cute, he even stood in line at Wal-mart to get a signed copy of this book. How cute huh? Then he got this cute c.d. with Christmas piano music.

The 12 Days of Christmas

ON THE FIRST DAY OF CHRISTMAS......

MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME.....

HOW CUTE IS AARON?

I woke up this morning totally forgetting about how I got a little hint that he might be doing the 12 days of Christmas for me. He has done it before with a Mary Kay package, so he didn't actually think the stuff up himself. But, this time he did!I love that I have a creative husband.
I went into the bathroom to get my day going and I found this note on my mirror.

So, I started looking everywhere in my towel and Aaron said, just go about your day and that is how you will find it the fastest. Madison and Porter were helping me and Aaron told them it rhymes with wake-up. Porter figured out the clue and Madison found the card in my make-up bag!!

SO FUN!!

As you can see I got a gift card to Maurices! I love that store and they have pretty good deals going on from time to time.

I get so giddy about this kind of stuff and get so excited to wake up the next morning to see what my surprise for the day is.

I JUST CAN'T WAIT FOR TOMORROW!!

Not Much Is Happening Around Here.....

So, you would think that it's the holidays so everyone is so busy doing all sorts of fun stuff to post about right? Well, I have noticed that I am not the only one that hasn't been keeping up on my blog so that does make me feel better. Maybe in January life will slow down and everyone will post of their December festivities? Geese, I didn't even post about Thanksgiving, Christie and Brenden's shower, or Hailee's blessing. The low-down is......

THEY WERE ALL GREAT!!

My family all lives in town so we pretty much get together every Sunday. It was still fun to have Thanksgiving Turkey and all the fixin's. I didn't take any pictures. Although, I should have of Russ' truck. Aaron, Russ and Porter were getting a little stir crazy by about 6 o'clock on Thanksgiving night so they took Russ' Tacoma out to the sand dunes and played in the mud like little boys! Aaron and Russ had a good time and Porter did also. I think he had a better time thinking he was big enough to hang out with the big boys than the actually muddy hill climbing. That was a little scary for him.
Madison, Ryan, Brayd and I just pretty much hung out with grandma and grandpa and all the aunts, uncles and cousins that were there.

Christie's shower turned out really good. She got some way good stuff and we cooked up some delicious soups. Heather made the invitaions which of courses turned out SO cute.!Oh, and Joanna made some good cheesecakes and picked out some very delicious bread bowls. Good Job Jo, Good Job!!
Hailee's blessing was wonderful. Jason did a good job at blessing her and it was very cute. We then went to my mom's and ate crepe's. DELICIOUS!! We all got there at about 10:30 a.m. and left at about 5:00 p.m. It was a lot of fun. I love that my family lives so close and we get together so much.

Can you see what is on my entertainment center, and flying through my kitchen?

I got home from picking up Madison from school and Porter told me there was a BIRD in our house. I couldn't believe it! My sisters always tease me that they feel like they are in the forest in my house because of my plants, but I never believed them....NOW I DO!!
I don't know how it got in, but after us watching the little guy for about 15 minutes, it chirping while sitting on my shutters and looking out the window, it finally made it's way outside. It was pretty entertaining and the kids loved it!
Joanna called me during the chaos and I told her it was kinda fun having a bird flying around my house. To which she responded......"Yeah, until it starts pooping!" Good point! That is when I started trying to get our little friend out. Farewell our friend.........

After we were safe and no bird poop was going to end up on our Christmas cookies we started frosting.... I though I got a picture of Madison but I didn't...Sorry baby!

Ry pretty much put TONZ of sprinkles on his-which you can't see here because by this time I had already thrown them away so they didn't end up on my floor-then ATE them.

Porter is concentrating very hard. Madison decorated and gave him the heart cookie on his plate.
What a nice sister!
Porter is decorating a stocking.

Well, hopefully I will keep up on our festivities a little better.....

St. Nick Night

For those of you who don't know......St. Nick is a German holiday. Aaron's grandma Smith came here from Germany when she was 20-I think- So, it is a fun tradition that has stuck.
You polish your best shoes (Sunday Shoes) the night of the 5th. And if you have been good so far, then he will leave you little surprises. Madison was sleeping at my mom's house with her cousin Lexi, so St. Nick went there for her. Madison got a barbie, toothpaste, a puzzle and some candy. My mom forgot to have them wash their shoes, but she remembered to put them out. St. Nick still came, even though they were her play shoes. Sorry about the no picture baby girl. I still do love you!!

Porter, Ryan and Brayd have been good.......Well, considering they are boys. They each got a Motorcycle-Porter a Honda, Ryan a Polaris, and Brayden a Kawasaki. They got toothpaste, and some twix bars also.

I LOVE MY BOYS!!
