Madi's Birthday Party

For Madi's sweet 9th Birthday Party:) I took Madi and some of her closest friends to the hair college to get some pampering. She has some cute friends and they were so well behaved. Not so much like the 10 8 year old boys we took bowling earlier this month!
Each of the girls got their fingernails and toenails painted. Along with a cute little hair-do.
Some getting their hair done.
Others getting their nails done.
Madi got to wear this cute hat for her birthday.
Lining up for the runway.
They were all so nervous.
All ready to strut their stuff!
So Cute.
When they were all done up we had to go somewhere to show it all off so we went to Cold Stone to get some ice cream and open presents.
Lined up with some ice cream and presents to open.
Madi got some cute stuff and quite enjoyed her little party.
It was low-key for me and a good little time.
Happy Birthday Madi!!

My Madi is 9!

My Madi is 9! She is growing like a weed! She has developed a little attitude lately. I'm not so sure I am loving this, but with this little attitude is confidence and I like that part.
Madi wanted McDonald's pancakes for breakfast, so that is what she got.
Along with a grapefruit with a candle in it!
So excited for presents!!
Her presents consisted of...
Peanut Butter filled Oreos.
A big Reese's Bar.
Get off Jo!
A little Craft.
A towel/swimsuit cover.
A swimsuit.
A cute little comforter that was supposed to be a quilt.
I think we will be returning it and get a real quilt.
Some Rollerblades!!
She was very excited for these!
Especially after playing around on Porter's yesterday!
All my babies. Ry was so cute, after this picture was taken he said, "It looks like Porter and I are getting married":) It's true!
When school was over and it was time to have some fun, Madi chose to go on a rollerblade/bike ride to try out her new blades. It was way fun! Madi is just a beginner so she held on to Aaron almost the whole time. She did get some battle wounds. All the while Porter was doing spins and all sorts of jumps on his blades. Wow, that kid is entertaining!
I asked Ry to take a picture of us.....
Here is the battle wound on her knee.
Then I said a little closer....
Wow!
Madi and Brayd doing Madi's fun craft.
I asked Madi at about this point if she was having fun and she said. "Yes, because everyone is doing just what they want to". Cute girl!
Aaron is getting so so fast!
Aaron would come up behind Porter really fast while they were both rollerblading on the track and pick up Porter.
Porter thought it was so fun!
Ry is getting into the whole Rollerblading also.
With Madi's blades.
Aaron had a basketball in the evening that we went to. After that we headed to Madi's choice of dinner which was Samurai 21. We had to wait about 45 minutes to get in.
Aaron was not happy about that. Can you tell?
And Brayd.
At this point Aaron was a little happier.
At least we were seated and coloring.
Brayd and I.
Madi and her birthday dinner!
Madi's cake and ice cream:)
It was too cold to sit outside and eat the ice cream so we took it to the Yukon and ate it there.
It was so yummy!
Madi is such a sweet girl! I really couldn't ask for a better daughter.
I love you Madi!!

More Parties....

As all the excitement and planning of the last week is winding down, it's nice to have a break. Before the Smith Family headed out to their homes we enjoyed a little sun in the backyard. Our little family is really loving to Rollerblade. Currently we have 3 sets of GOOD rollerblades around our home-there are more to come:) Aaron put his on and had a good time with the kids on the track and back porch.
Pushing Tay and Ry around.
Aaron getting ready to do a sling shot with Porter.
Helping Madi keep her balance.
Today was Russ' birthday where tomorrow is Madi's. While we were picking out a cake Madi found one with pretty flowers on it. I said to Madi, "remember it's Russ' birthday also." She replied, "I know, we always have a girl cake!" It's true, Russ is such a good sport about it! One year it was even a princess one! However, she did find one that fit both her and Russ and she was so excited. They both love music so it worked out nicely!
Such a cute cake with notes on it!
All lit and ready to blow!
Blowing out the candles.
Russ was a little faster than Madi.
Madi wanted the purple eighth notes. So, that is just what she got!
No, she didn't eat it all! I should have made it 2 quarter notes and gave her one:)
-Oh, Tuff is beautiful-
It's so fun to be with family.
I'm so glad My Family is Forever!

My Madi is growing TOO fast....

I can't believe my Madison is old enough to get braces! I thought I was a young mom! I'm o.k. with getting old, but I'm not o.k. with my kids getting old. When they get old they will leave me. So Sad!!!
For a couple of months now Madi has been in the process of getting braces.
Before the braces.
She first had to get some spacers, then an expander and now the braces were finally put on.
We started with some glasses and chapstick.
Her lips were getting stretched so she had to lubricate them.
Getting her lips out of the way so they don't pinch her.
So beautiful!
My Madi with braces. She chose pink and purple for the colors
As we were leaving she said, "I like braces, I think they are cute!"
I'm so happy she has confidence and thinks she looks good in braces, because she does!
No, we didn't take the glasses too:)

A Girl and Her Dog...

It's not a secret that Madi just loves Ossie Baby! Madi decided that she was going to come down to our room this night and sleep. She made her bed, then Aaron had her come snuggle with us for a minute. By the time Madi got back down on the 'Diego Bed' Ossie had taken over her pillow. She kicked him off her pillow, but went and got him a different one. When we looked down on the floor a little while later we saw this.....
Yes, she got Ossie Baby a different pillow and he was happy to use it!
Now that's a 'Best Friend!'

Madi's 2nd Grade Play

This year in Madi's end of the year program she was chosen to be the Narrator. Her play was about the three little pigs. She did Awesome of course and I don't think she even stumbled over any words.
She had to remember to turn the microphone on and off every time she would talk. Not once did she miss a beat!
There are two reasons why I post pictures of myself.....1) So my kids will remember me. 2) My kids are the ones that usually take the pictures and I love their picture taking skills-in case you couldn't tell that already.
All ready to begin the program.
Brenden just loved this wagon that was part of the play. One little boy wouldn't let him play with it. He was so sad.
Brayden is always faking a yawn when he is bored. This is him in action and the crew that came to watch Madi perform.
When the play was over Brayd and Brenden got the "go ahead" and were happy to play with the wagon.
Madi's class with her teacher.
I didn't get a picture of just Madi and Mrs. Hamilton. Mrs. Hamilton was such a great teacher for Madi! She was so nice and Madi just loved her.
We will miss her!

Madi's Baptism Day!

I am so proud of my Madi for getting baptized. Aaron's grandma Smith didn't get baptized until she was 9 and we wanted Madi to know that it is o.k. to wait until you are comfortable. She decided to do it now and was so very excited for this day.
A quick family picture before heading to the church.
With our Baby Girl!
Just THE monkeys!
The traditional picture:)
Another family picture with Madi in her Baptism dress. My mom made her dress and it turned out just PERFECT!! Madi looked beautiful and it had purple flowers just like her blessing dress my mom made.
Bentley was blessed the same night Madi was baptized and we had a dinner afterward. It turned out great and the company was perfect!
Madi and Bentley, the two that made this night special!
Aaron and Madi.
My Madi and I.
Grandpa Wilbur got Madi a bank to keep track of her spending, savings and tithing money.
Aaron explaining it all to Madi.
All the men that stood in the circle to confirm Madi. Along with Taylor, who held the microphone-he's not quite old enough yet.
With Grandpa Wilbur also.
Madi and her Grandpa Key and Grandpa Smith
-The 2 Witnesses-
Just a side note.....Madi got baptized twice because her toe snuck up out of the water.
Whoops!
