Dinner and a Soccer Game!

Last night Aaron and I took our 4 kids and we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse! It was pretty delicious and the kids thought it was pretty fun. Aaron and I use to always take the kids out to lunch and dinner. That was before we had 4!

Porter is a good photographer.

Ry loved the rolls and I think we were good entertainment for the ladies sitting across from us. They didn't seem too annoyed by us.

After we got home from dinner and Costco the kids wanted their dad to teach them how to play a little soccer. They were all being really good sports and playing pretty well until the first Smith Soccer Game got up and running. It was Aaron and Ryan against Porter and Madison. Madison is really competitive and when the score was 2-0 with Ryan and Aaron ahead the emotions started rolling and it got a little out of control. So, I had to step in and take control...........I tried to make a goal, but even though Aaron is 29 he is still pretty dang good at his soccer skills. Aaron finally let Madison and Porter score a goal so they felt a little better. It was a lot of fun and I am looking forward to many more games!

Madison and her fun, new trick.

Madison had her first soccer practice this week. She looks so big and her legs are getting so long. She is too cute. I think she will be an awesome soccer player!
Good Luck Baby Girl! You look GREAT!

My Old Man!

Sunday August 24th was Aaron's 29th birthday. I really think he is going through a mid-life crisis right now. Either that or he needs a job because he will even admit that he's been a bit ornery. Last week he came to me and said, " Do you think I should be a greeter at Wal-mart or something? Now, anyone that knows Aaron will know that he could never do that kind of job. He's not "cheesy" enough. I could do it, just not him.
We celebrated some of Aaron's birthday on Saturday. We went shopping, then to lunch, then to a movie. We had fun. Then on Sunday he opened a couple of movies I got him along with a C.D. and the clothes that HE had picked out, but I had bought.

Aaron's presents and the kids-Brayden was sleeping. He got 6 new outfits! And, I must admit he looks pretty hot in them.

Later that evening after the kids and I had gone to Christie's for the day so Aaron could have a relaxing Sunday we had cheesecake for dessert.
The real fun started on Monday when Aaron, I, Russ, Porter and Ryan went to Lake Powell for Monday and Tuesday. We spent all day on Monday looking for houseboats, which he desperately wants to own a share in one. We found one Aaron really likes and he's still "thinking" about it. Tuesday we spent about 4 hours on the lake. We had a good time.
What Aaron really wanted to do for his birthday was spend all week at Lake Powell. That is pretty hard for me to swing with two kids in school and two babies. I told him we would do that for his 30th birthday. I have to do something or I'm afraid he will be ornery for the month before and month after his birthday. He might have a hard time with the big 30!
I'm so thankful for the husband and dad Aaron is. He is a great example of kindness and a hard worker! I'm not sure how often he goes blog-stalking but If you do baby, I love You! I'm glad you married me before you REALLY knew me so we could be on this crazy roller coaster together. I hope your birthday turned out o.k. after all.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

School is back in-Well, like a week ago!

So Joanna told me the other day that I needed to post again. So, I am. I'm just trying to get back into the swing of things around here. After being gone for two months, then with school starting it's quite the adventure to try and get back on track again.

Madison started 1st grade and Porter is in Kindergarten. I can't hardly believe it. I thought having a child in Kindergarten was bad. Let me tell you! I still wonder if Madison is ever going to come home. School goes FOREVER!! By the time Madison gets home at like 3:45 she has just enough time to practice the piano, do her homework-which she hardly has any of-then her jobs-which she might have too many of-and it's time for dinner! We do eat at 5:00. So, I guess she has about an hour and a half to do what she wants before it's time to get ready for bed. I really thought the days were never going to end that first week of school. Here we are the second day of the second week and I might be getting use to it. I HATE IT. She's my baby girl!

Madison's teacher is Miss Dutson. She is in her early 20's and so dang cute. I think Madison will love her!

Porter's teacher is Mrs. Buzzell. She is probably in her 60's and she's from Maine. I think she is just what Porter needs. The grandma type that isn't going to let him get away with ANYTHING!!

After we took Madison and Porter to school Brayden and Ryan came with me to my mom's school for a minute. They had to of course ride the slide.
READY...... SET.......
GO!!
Ryan did the countdown and Brayden followed. I'm thinking it may be this way their whole lives.

Porter might think he is a model. Madison might be a good photographer.

These two pictures are random, but I found them on my camera. Apparently Porter and Madison got bored while Aaron was looking for church clothes.

HOME SWEET HOME!!

So, we finally made it home today. I have so much to catch up on but I can't think about doing it all at once or I will be too overwhelmed and not get anything done at all.
On Friday night we packed all the sweet stuff that we had bought to survive a month in the Burley house. Including dishes that we will now put in the motor home, and random things I bought to entertain the kids. We then woke up on Saturday morning and loaded the kids in the car to head out!! On our way out we stopped by Cycle City to say farewell to the friends we had made there-the kids and I did spend a lot of time there. At least 2 hours a day. It was fun to go take Aaron lunch, and heck, a motorcycle store is like a playground for 3 little boys!!
I just thought I would let everyone know that we are back to the hot sunny weather in St. George. We have been gearing up for it so maybe it won't be as bad as we are expecting? Porter told me on the way home this afternoon, " mom, I will only be able to ride my bike around the track once then I will have to come in the house because I will be sweating." I love the things kids come up with!

Here are just some random things we did while living there this summer.....

Madison and Porter went to swimming lessons for two weeks. I paid way too much, and it was a little pathetic, but the kids had fun and it filled half an hour of our day.

Brayden's schedule got completely screwed up. In this picture it is 7:00 p.m. and my poor baby hadn't even had a nap. I couldn't get him to wake up for the life of me.

Porter got his first Bee Sting. Poor boy! He didn't really love the mud on it. However, after we took the mud off he told me it felt a lot better.

Aaron's sister, Aubrey and I went to Wal-mart to get our oil changed. After 2 hours we finally decided to just leave. So, this is what we did, put all 6 kids in the back of her Altima and drove the 1/4 mile to Aubrey's house.

Watching the mechanics at Wal-mart was a cool thing for my babies.

One of the coolest things we did was took the kids to the Twin Falls Temple open house. It was so fun to be able to take the kids inside the temple. When we told them we were going they thought it would be fun. When we told them they got to to in they were ecstatic!! We had a lot of fun and it was a really good experience for them. And us!

So this is the SWEET Burley house.....Do you like the window air conditioning unit in the front window upstairs? It's sweet to match the whole house huh?

This is "Story Book Park." It's probably the coolest park I've ever seen. It was only like a 2 minute walk away from the house. We spent quite a few hours at this place.

HERE is the whole reason we were up there. This is Cycle City where we spent lots of hours, and of course Aaron spent even more time there.

Burley was good. It was good to be there, but it is even better to be back. We all missed our house and we heard from Ryan at least once a day, " I want to go back to my CUTE house."
SO NOW WE ARE HOME!!
