Porter's Birthday #9!!

My poor Porter kinda got the shaft this year....We decorated the house the night before and Aaron was feeling under the weather so I was a little nervous but hoped it would pass. I got up early the next morning, kissed all my babies goodbye and headed up to Salt Lake to go to the Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning sessions of General Conference with the Young Women.
Aaron got up and did birthday with Porter....
I'm thinking a child took this picture.
Porter looks very happy with his gifts.
He got lots of gear, a picture of Jesus and LOTS of treats.
What more could my boy want?!?
Aaron did take him out to the track and went riding this day. I then got a text with Aaron saying that he was sick and couldn't fake it anymore. He needed to be down. So, my good parents took the kids and had a sleepover that night with them.
I think he was happy with all his presents but he just didn't get the attention and the good times that I would hope for him to get on his special day. He didn't complain at all so it must not have been too bad.
I did call and talk to Porter and he told me he had lots of fun at the track.
Thanks Baby for suckin' it up!!
Those pictures are the only ones that were taken. That's o.k. though they got a picture of all the fun stuff!
I love my Porter and he for sure keeps things interesting around here!!
I now have two 9 year olds!! This time of the year is SO FUN!!!

Brayd's Birthday Party!!

I am such a naughty mom and don't so much enjoy doing the friend birthday party thing for my kids. I love to spend the day with them and spoil them with the family on their birthday but I slack off when it comes to friend parties. However, my kids think they are the best thing ever so I try to get away with as little as possible. This year Brayd invited a couple of friends and we took the mess to McDonald's for breakfast:)
We spent about an hour in a half there and Brayd got a couple of presents from friends and cousins.
Silly Kids!
In attendance were cousins Hailee, Bentley, Brenden and friends Tayson and Riggin.
Everyone is so excited!
Tayson gave him a squirt gun.
Brayd was looking for the next present:)
Brenden gave him a cars floatie.
Riggin gave Brayd a remote control Spyder motorcycle.
Perfect birthday party and very low stress for mom.
I just got to hang out with Jo, Jason and Bud for the time.
I think Brayd was happy and we all had a good time!

My Brayd turns 5!

My big Brayd had another birthday! I think I would be so so sad if I didn't have another one on the way. It is still sad though because my Brayd has been my side-kick for 5 years. I guess I need to let him go sometime.
Aaron had told Brayd that he would get a 50 motorcycle for his birthday because Aaron sold the 4-wheeler Brayd got for his birthday last year. So, that is exactly what was expected.
My sleepy man. So ready for his birthday.
He was not disappointed, nor did he act like he "knew it".
Just a happy boy!
All his presents waiting for him.
It fits him well.
Having his grapefruit for breakfast.
A tradition from Grandma Smith.
All the "good stuff"!
All ready to try the motorcycle with no training wheels.
Dad teaching and doing such a good job.
I LOVE our little track in the backyard.
Brayden caught on very quickly riding the motorcycle and that is exactly what he did for the rest of the afternoon. He is addicted!
We then headed to Golden Corral for dinner.
Where everyone gets just what they want for dinner. Brayd had some steak and macaroni and cheese.
For dessert Brayd found lots of chocolate!!
I busted out my mad skills from the good 'ol days at McDonald's to show my kids how great I am at building an ice cream cone.
They were impressed:)
It was a good day and I believe Brayd got just what he wanted!
We love our Brayd, he is such a good boy and the perfect little brother!!

Track Meet

I'm really not a fan of competition. If my kids go through life without competing I will be completely happy! However, they had to do the track meet so I went to support. I think they just like the fact that I was there where they could see me. Porter came over and sat by me a bit but Madi pretty much just hung out with her friends which is o.k. also.
Madi at the start of her 50 meter dash:)
She was so nervous.
Porter gearing up for his race.
I don't think he really cared.
Both of them finished somewhere in the middle of the pack.
The both did the softball throw and the long jump.
I know Porter jumped 4 feet 2 inches.
Aaron gave him some pointers before he left for school that morning. Madi was at choir so she didn't get the pointers:)
I don't think Track and Field is our thing. We will stick to riding motorcycles and playing the piano!

Joanna's Birthday!

As Joanna's sisters, we feel somewhat obligated to entertain her while her husband is at work on her birthdays:) This year my Grandma Key was in town so she joined us. Heather was in Pine Valley, Trini on a cruise and Nicole in Vegas. We went to dinner at delicious Outback then did a little shopping and ended the night at Menchie's.
My Madi, Bud and Joanna.
Madison thinks she is so big to go out on our girls nights.
It's o.k. she's a good girl!
As I was getting this picture taken I knew I looked awesome.....
See?
We had some good times and did some good shopping!
Happy Birthday Jo!!

Awwww.....

For Spring Break I asked Aaron if he would rather go on a vacation or heat the pool? Because we were gone so much in February he decided he needed to stay and work so we would heat the pool. We laid by the pool on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Aaron took the day off so he was able to enjoy the excitement of the pool for the first time this year. As sad as it is the kids know not to even ask me to get in because they have gotten rejected so many times. However, Aaron usually gets in and plays. This time was no exception......
He entered by jumping on the skim board to see how far he could go.
Cute picture of my cute family.
Pushing Brayd on the knee board.
He stayed on really well.
Porter hurrying to put down the jet ski just in case he needs to rescue Brayden.
Such a good big brother!!
Madi and her side-kick. At this point they had been in the sun enough.
Ryan trying out the knee-board.
And coming back!
Porter once again running to make sure he didn't need to rescue anyone.
Madi's turn.
Playing a new game with Brayd.
Madi and her trick!
At this point Aaron was getting cold so he needed to warm up and thought the kids should do it with him so they all got out and did jumping jacks. It was quite comical.....
So cute, Aaron taught Brayd how to do them.
Playing the so fun game where the kids could only hold on to one of Aaron's fingers with one of their hands. So Cute!!
With all that swimming we were ready for some pizza so we had it delivered and had a little picnic.
Good Times!!
Super Fun Day!!!
Sorry, no pictures of this beached whale:)

Yardwork/Fun....

As we were hanging by the pool we saw that the grass in there needed some major cutting. Aaron and the boys take care of the landscaping by the pool while Aaron has someone take care of the rest of the yard. Aaron really enjoys yard work but the rest of the yard in a full time job itself. Especially with my perfectionist husband:)
Sometimes the lawn mower looks like it is getting away from Porter.
He got it under control.
I remember doing this with my dad.
I loved to walk on the freshly mowed lawn.
Cute little duckies!
I love that Aaron lets the boys help him.
I hope they remember this forever!!

Kick Off To Spring Break....

We had big plans for Spring Break. Mostly to hang out by the pool all week and get our tan on.
We also moved our T.V. from downstairs to the upstairs "theatre room" so the kids love to watch movies up there. I can't believe how big my monkeys are!
Just watching a movie with some yummy popcorn!
Bring on the fun of Spring Break!!!
