Aaron Being Domestic

You don't see Aaron in the kitchen very often, but, when you do he is being pretty productive. Lately Aaron has been asking for me to make him some wheat bread. I really don't have any excuses besides I was scared for what would happen. I have always been afraid of yeast and how it just never seems to rise quite right for me. Well, with my recent adventures in the kitchen I have pretty much had good luck with it.
I finally told Aaron if he would grind the wheat-yes, I did use my food storage!! Then I would attempt the bread.
So, after church Aaron got out the wheat grinder and went to work....

It was going really well until Aaron ground too much wheat and the flour poofed out everywhere!

Ry was right on it and vaccumned it up for Aaron.

Check out that MESS!!
I ended up making the bread and the kids LOVED it. Especially right out of the oven. I was delicious and gone in 1 day! I guess I should make it again.
It was quite the busy day. Being the last day of the month I had Visiting Teaching to do. Aaron had Home Teaching and our Home Teachers came.
When it came dinner time Aaron wasn't feeling like relaxing. Instead he wanted to make a homemade "Red Sauce" for pasta. So, we went to work.

Aaron enjoyed making the sauce. It was super spicy and too sweet. But, we ate it and I thought it was pretty good.
I am really starting to enjoy Sundays. Now that the kids can entertain themselves for the most part and we can all just CHILL!!

Just A Little Update.....

I really feel like a slacker not updating about our lives....I have so much to write about, Easter, the move back, Madi's birthday, Ry's stitches in and out. My only problem is....Aaron has the laptop and this desktop that we have is having major issues. I tried to do a post about a week ago, it took me about 45 minutes to write a 5 picture post and just when I was about done it all got erased somehow. I was angry and swore I wouldn't do another post on this computer.
Aaron is in Burley but coming home on the weekends. He has made some good friends up there without me. I think he thinks he is single again. I'm o.k. with thtat as long as he isn't checkin' out the ladies. It's kinda sad without him, but I am learning to be a big girl. It does help that there is someone in the casita so it is not quite so scary when the thunder hits and the lightening strikes!
The kids are loving life back in Sunny St. George. They have adjusted very well back in school and act as if they never even left. I'm not going to lie....I Am happy to be back TOO!!
I will have Aaron bring down the laptop this weekend so I can keep on my pretty "chill" life here. Or maybe I should go to Jo's and do a little more than just "hang-out" there!
All in All, life is great and life couldn't get any better.
There Ya Go Karla!!

Our Life

This is what our house looks like between the hours of 3 and 4 on Monday through Thursday. Ry thought these times were "picture worthy".

Madi doing her homework
Mom and Porter doing his homework.
Ry's toys with his favorite picture.
Ry!!
I'm assuming Brayd was in the playroom just keeping himself busy. He's pretty good at that.
Thanks again RY!!

Pictures From Ry

I'm thinking that maybe I should be a little more careful with my camera. Then I think......If I were I wouldn't get to see what the kids think are picture worthy.
These are from Ry.
Ry and Brayd were so happy with their little car collection they created this morning.
I love these little feetsies:)
THANK YOU RY!!!

My Baby!

So, Aaron usually doesn't get embarrassed. However, this time he was a LITTLE bit.
It was cute.
When we were down in Sandy with no kids this last weekend we stayed in a house with all the dudes from work. When Sunday came and it was time to go to church we tried to go to the building where Aaron was baptized. When we got there we found out that sacrament meeting wasn't first. I still wanted to take a picture of him in front of the building.
So, I did.....

It was very funny getting to the point of the actual picture. Aaron pulled up to the curb, I stayed in the car, he said, " are you just going to sit in the car?" I said, "yep!" He gave me a funny look and waited for all cars to pass then quickly walked to the building. I took the picture, he got back in the car and said, "you are a dork!" It was pretty hilarious! I was actually really surprised he called me a dork but it was cute!
I love my baby! I'm so happy he's mine!

Remember When.....

We made tie-dyed shirts and it was so FUN!!!
I think what made it so fun was the fact that the kids thought they were so cool and Aaron was so in to it! He was so worried every time a little bit of the green would get on the purple, or the purple would get on the green.
Let me back up......Aaron got home from work a little late tonight so I knew the kids wouldn't make their 7:30 bed time but I was actually o.k. with that. Everyone was so excited to make the shirts that I couldn't dampen the mood.
After Aaron got home and ate his homemade "Sausage, hamburger soup"-I had to call it that because it is in my babies heads that they don't like chili-we set to work. Aaron put on his apron and just got it done!!
I love that Aaron is smiling even after he turned his head to stop the water.
I guess I took too long to take the picture.
Here everyone is looking!
Aaron said the apron was too tight so he took it off just in time start the die part. I guess he didn't care so much about his 5 year old sweatshirt from Old Navy. The kids wanted to help but that would have just been a mess! Aaron did an excellent job though. A little O.C.D. but I calmed him down a bit.
I actually witnessed Porter taking this pictures of himself. If you can imagine this...He points the camera at himself, puckers up his lips, takes this pictue, looks at it and smiles at himself. I wish I would have gotten a picture of that!!
I love my Porter!
I was just telling Aaron last night that Porter is a monkey and I definitely have to get after him more than the others. This is mainly because he is so slow at doing his homework and has ALOT of energy. However, I am SO glad that he is so capable of doing so much!! I never have to worry about the garbage cans, about bringing my luggage in after a vacation, or even about him crying. I just love the fact that he is such a BOY!
Funny story.....
Last Wednesday Porter came downstairs from playing and our conversation went like this....
Porter-Mom, I am so tough.
Me-Oh yeah?
Porter-Yeah, I was trying to put the lego table back together and I jumped on one side and the other side came up and hit me in the forehead.
Me-Let me see.
Sure enough, there was a big goose egg on his forehead. Probably the size of a golf ball. It was pretty funny, but I was even more impressed by how tough my 6 year old is!
I took a look at it this morning and it is still yellow from the bruising.
Porter sure is Tuff!!
My Baby and I with Ry.
The boys got bored and started taking pictures.
Thanks for the beautiful picture Brayd!
Madi was so intrigued by it all. Maybe next time she can help.
Once again a beautiful picture but at least I have a cute apron on. I think this one is Madi's. Thanks Heather!!
I'm pretty sure that the RIT is a lot easier and in-expensive. I told Madi we would make them at grandma's house when we are there in 3 weeks!
Stay tuned to see how they turn out.
It's quite the process!

Before I Forget......

I'm not going to lie........Brayden is such a cute little Man:).
Last night I was sitting in front of Brayden while he was watching Dora and I was cutting coupons. It was peaceful and I thought things were great until Brayd says,
"Mom, move you(r) head, It's Big!"
He is such a cute little man.
While I was in Salt Lake this weekend without my babies I picked them up a little surprise. This surprise was a sweet Tie-Dye shirt kit! I thought it was awesome and my babies were going to love it. I'm too scared to attempt stuff like this on my own so we waited to do it tonight for Family Night. As we were getting ready to do the shirts Brayd says..
"Are we making Tie-Downs?"
Can you tell he's a boy and he's around these sorts of thing alot?
Pictures are to come of the making of the shirts and the final result. I'm crossing my fingers they turn out good and most importantly the kids like them!

9 Years With My Baby!

9 years ago I was the happiest girl on earth!! I knew my life was perfect. I was marrying the man I love-barely knew, but loved.
This year our anniversary was pretty low-key. Aaron has been busy with work so our anniversary and Valentine's Day were put on the back burner.
That is O.K. though. Sometimes the stress isn't worth it.

For our Anniversary we went to lunch with Ry and Brayd to "The Upper Crust". It may be the nicest restaurant in town that isn't a steak house. It was most delicious and the kids were good for us.
On the way in I realized that with all the long hours Aaron has been putting in for work, my little boys have missed their dad just as much as I have.
Ry always gets this pouty face when he needs attention from Aaron.
You can see it in this picture.

Every time I have the camera Brayd needs a picture.
He's so cute!

I think the magic is still there and now I know I married the right boy!
I love you Baby!
Happy Anniversary.

Better Than Riding Motorcycles?

I didn't ever think I would hear "This is better than riding motorcycles" come out of Porter's mouth. I guess skiing tops it.
Aaron and Grandpa Smith took Porter skiing for his first time. Grandma and Grandpa live about 5 minutes away from Powder Mountain in Liberty so it was perfect. When we first came over the mountain we showed Porter what he was going to ski down. He was pretty nervous. Aaron said he got over that pretty quick though.

Grandpa, Aaron and Porter all ready to go!

Grandpa use to be a ski instructor so Porter had the perfect teacher.
With Aaron helping too I'm sure.
Porter loved riding on the "magic carpet". It takes skiers to the top of the bunny hill.
From what I hear-I didn't go of course, BRRRRRRR! Porter lasted about 2 or 3 runs on the bunny hill and he was ready for bigger and better things.
Not Surprising at all.
Here they are going up to the real slopes.
I don't think Porter could of been happier.
I have known for a while that as long as we keep Porter busy he can be the best kid ever. The only problem is the busy stuff can't be shopping. WHAT? He has to be doing something outdoors. Ya'll know outdoors is just not me. It's perfect though because Aaron and Porter can spend this time together!
Aaron couldn't stop talking about how well Porter did and how much he loved it. I am so glad they were able to go and have a good time!
GOOD JOB PORTER!!
Brayd got a hold of the camera after the boys got home with the camera.....
Just hangin'.
Brayd Posing while laying down. I guess he wanted a picture too.

A Taste Of Life In Burley....

Occasionally I look through the pictures on my camera and I find this.....
I love my boys and I love the surprises they leave for me.
Porter is definitely the comedian in our family.

The kids were upstairs playing and Madi came down and asked if she could pretend it was summer. Sure, you have to let them have imaginations right?
She lasted about 5 minutes until she was cold.
She ended up putting her foot on the warm oven.

And Brayd? Well, he is my big helper when it comes to cooking.
Is this safe?
Probably not but it made for a cute picture.
I didn't actually let him take the pan out.
Please don't report me.

Being Domestic?

This morning I though I would bust out my domestic side! Ry, Brayd and I decided to make cinnamon rolls from scratch! Yes, you heard me right, I raised the dough and everything:). My plan was to have it all done and have the dough raising by the time we took lunch to the "workers". I even put the dough on the heaters upstairs so it would raise nicely(hoping Ossie Baby didn't discover it and eat the dough like he did to the rolls yesterday). He didn't.
We took Aaron, Russ and Nicole lunch and everything was going smoothly until I bit a carrot and my crown broke loose from my tooth. That sucks!
I called the dentist in my ward and he was able to get me in.
I now look like this......
Yep, a Freakin' Hillbilly. I even got it pulled in HEYBURN.
To make a long story a little shorter they couldn't save my tooth, so they did the next best thing right? PULLED IT. They say I will be able to put the implant in as soon as it heals. Meanwhile they can put something there so I can feel good about myself. I will have a consultation with the different dentist next week.
Well, 5 hours later, my overgrown dough and almost fainting in the dentist chair I made it home and continued making my cinnamon rolls.....

This is alot of cinnamon rolls!
They turned out good and I may cook with yeast again after this!!
They even did very good at rising the second time. Due to my unplanned event in the middle of the day, Kris cooked them while I was on a "hot" date.
Thanks Kris!!

While I was recovering from my "surgery" Madi was playing next to me and said, "look Mom!"
I looked.....
Seriously, is there a better dog on this whole planet?
I was a little surprised that Madi did this. The difference between her and the boys doing this is she was ALOT more careful in the process.
I AM SURE OF IT!
We love Ossie Baby!
Today was busy. I'm glad it's over. However, things turned out:)

I'm Raising Monkeys!

I was doing laundry while Aaron was playing with the kids
and I turned my head to see this........
I then had Aaron run to get the camera.
While he was gone all the kids ended up like this.....
Brayd couldn't figure out why there were all falling.
I'm guessing it was the two boys in the middle......
What do you think?
Can you imagine Madi's frustrations?
Yes, Brayd stood on his head this whole time!
He even got up by himself.
I can't believe how big my BABY is getting:(
The first picture was actually taken last.
Yes, they did get up again!

My Big Helper!

Brayden is for sure my little helper! He is always the one right there with me helping me cook. He really likes to be in on the action. I think I may let him do too much. Is it bad to let your 2 year old help you put meatballs in the hot pan? Well, I did and I probably will again.

He put all these in and was mad that I took a picture, then of course he wanted to look at it!

Then he got used to me taking pictures and just did his thing!
Thanks for help Brayd!
