Tivi's 1st Plane Trip.....

The 4th of July is always so much fun up in Liberty with Grandma and Grandpa Smith. Well, because we had a baby not even a month earlier, I didn't think we would make it but the days got long and I figured I may as well be sitting around while the kids were having a great time with family. However, I was very nervous about driving in the car for 5 hours with a 3 week old! So I looked up flights and it was definitely worth it to fly up. It was under 200 dollars round trip. So, Tivi and I booked our flight. I figured she would be fine, just latch her on and let her eat for an hour:)
Waiting at the airport......
Checking out her surroundings.
Yep, she ate for about 5 minutes then as soon as those engines turned on she was asleep!
Such a good girl!!
I was very happy with the flight.
Grandma and Grandpa Smith along with Ashley picked us up in Salt Lake and the vacation was excellent!!

Baby Tivi's 1st REAL Bath!

Tivoli's umbilical cord took a lot longer to fall off than any of my other kids did. She was 17 days old! All my other kids were around 10 days.
The morning after it fell off we gave her a bath in the sink. Ry was the photographer while Brayd watched:)
When she first got in she was o.k.
 Not so happy anymore!
 Doing a little bit better.
O.k. time to get out.
She is so little and we just treat her like a doll.
Play dress-up everyday!
We love our Baby Tivi!!

Madi And Her Babies!

Madi is such a good helper! I'm not much for letting my kids watch shows during the day. However, one way they do get to is if they are rocking Baby Tivi.
Madi is a professional rocker by now.
Ossie Baby is even in on the rocking. There is definitely room for 3 in this case!
Madi has been a life-saver when it comes to getting stuff done around the house with a baby.
If she doesn't want to do the job, she will rock!

Tivi's 1st Church Day!!

My sweet Tivi got all dressed up and headed to church when she wasn't even 2 weeks old!! I can't stay home and Sunday's seem to go a lot better if we get out of the house.
This day was Stake Conference so the kids weren't around a bunch of other kids and we just got to sit!
Trying to get a good picture of Tivi sitting.
Oh she got so so mad!!
Kind of a good one.
She is such a sweet heart and looks so dang cute!
Thank you to Brianne Smith for making this adorable little skirt.
Thank you to Bud for making this cute onesie. They went together perfectly!!

Tivi's First Time In Her Crib.

As I was straightening up Baby Tivi's room I put her in her crib to try it out.....She didn't really love it.
She sat for about half a second then started getting fussy.
I would like to curl up in this softy blanky and take a nap!
She is such a sweet girl. Just loves to eat ALL the time:)

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my Baby!!
This Father's Day was pretty low-key. With Tivi being just 6 days old we all stayed home from church:) This very RARELY happens but it did this day. Aaron was at a wedding the day before and got home pretty late so he slept until lunch time. This was nice so I only made 2 meals.
Breakfast was waffles with all the extras.
This is what Aaron did most of the day.
He loves his baby girl and loves to hold her.....As long as he has his boppy:)
  Dinner was Chicken Cordon Bleus.
A family favorite.
After dinner we gave Aaron his few presents. Madi made Aaron some cute stuff at Activity Days and we gave Aaron a couple other presents. I filmed but didn't really get the camera out. He got some See's chocolate, a willow tree statue with 2 girls next to a dad, some other little treats and that's about it.
Happy Father's Day Baby.
You are the best!!

Feeding The Ducks!!

Aaron took off up to Salt Lake for the day to attend his friends/former employees Ezra and Amanda's wedding. While he was gone Joanna, Jason and I took the kids with lots of bread, that was leftover from Lake Powell, and fed it to the ducks!
My kids have gone and done this many a times with Bud but I never have.....
Tivi's and My first time feeding the ducks. Well, visiting the ducks:)
Madi is beautiful in her curlers!
Of course we took Os Man.
Ry and Porter in action.
 Brayden, Ry and Hailee.
Addi and Tivi did not love it tons, but at least they were miserable together:)

So Many Firsts.....

Days are just cruisin' by with this little lady...
I have a picture really similar to this of Madison.
Baby Tivoli thinks she is going to get a little suck suck from this pillow:)
Poor girl, her bows are always in her face. I think her head is too little!
The boys call her a pirate when this happens.
Aaron loves to hold Tivoli. That's 5 kids for him!!
I don't think he ever thought this would happen, but he is so in love with her!
We busted out the sponge bath for this lady....I started doing it but Aaron slowly took over.
I loved it!!
Tivoli was so mad about the body washing.
But loved getting her hair washed.
 SOOOO relaxed!!
Wow, I'm not really put together here....
Ryan was being such a good helper to brush Brayden's teeth for him!!
I love that my 4 older kids have really started helping each other out!!
They help with sight words, times table and brushing teeth:)
When we're helping we're happy......
I need to remember that!

Tivoli is named!

We knew we liked the name Tivoli since before we even knew we were having this sweet girl so when we found out we were pregnant we threw the name back and forth. Then when we found out she was a girl the kids started calling her Tivoli. Aaron had mentioned that in order for her to be named Tivoli she would have to be really cute. Apparently he didn't think this name would fit an ugly baby??
Her birthday came and Aaron was still back and forth. We weren't deciding between any other names we just didn't know! So, I finally texted Aaron this picture and asked if she was cute enough to be Tivoli Fae. He text back and said, "sure". Not really the response I was looking for so I didn't respond.
Then, a couple hours later he wrote. She's cute enough to be named Tivoli.
So, that was it, she had a name and we were very happy about it!!
She is such a sweet girl. I can't believe how much we are in love!!

Coming Home!

I'm not a fan of the hospital so I like to leave as soon as I can get out of there. My nurse was incredible, I think she even LOVED my baby:) It was my Sister-In-Law Trini! The night was O.K. I was worried about Tivoli because she kept gagging. Apparently that is very normal for newborns because they are trying to figure out how to breathe and stuff. We made it through the night and everything was good.
I got up and showered and got us all ready to go home.
Cute outfits courtesy of My other Sister in Law Brianne Smith! She made my dress and Tivoli's. She is so dang talented!

Aaron brought the kids in about 11:30.
He loves his baby girl.
 Does this really surprise you?
Porter decided to jump in the window sill to check out  the view. All while knocking down some of the blinds.
 Cute boys watching some T.V.
We couldn't leave until about 2 o'clock.
We had to wait for the bilirubin test to come back.
To pass the time we watched some High School Musical 2
Cute boy with his baby girl.
Yes Aaron enjoyed some High School Musical also.
 And Madi too.
 Holding my sweet baby.
 I do love her!
 All ready to go home!
We were SO ready.
 Good pictures Ry!

I'm happy to see that Ry even got a picture with her eyes open!
I love my Ry.
All loaded up and ready to go home to start this crazy life.
 Bud decorated our house.
So cute!
This is the REAL family picture.
Ossie wasn't in the other one!
Just ask Madi, Ossie is part of the family!
Tivoli's first bottle feeding.
Ry did it.
We are happy to be home and ready to begin this journey.....

Baby Tivoli Is Born!

I was scheduled to be induced on June 11, 2012! I was very happy to make it to this day. Aaron was back from Lake Powell and My doctor was back from Hawaii!! I was a little nervous that they would send me home being that I was only a "fingertip" the Thursday before. I talked to Trini and she said they wouldn't send me home. This was my 5th child and I was due on the 12th. I pumped on Saturday and went on a walk on Friday night. The walk turned into a little bit of a run and the pumping was painful. I had contractions and other pain but nothing too amazing.
Of course I couldn't do much sleeping Sunday night.....They would be calling me anytime between midnight and midnight on Monday. They usually start around 6 a.m. So, of course I started to get excited around then. They hadn't called me at 8 so I decided to call them and see what their schedule looked like. I would rather just know the timing instead of playing the waiting game. The lady that answered was really nice and told me they were very busy and it would probably be about 2 hours before they would call me in but I was the first one they would call.
So, I made a big breakfast and got the kids moving on sight words, writing letters, doing times tables, and practicing the piano. I even did some laundry. All in an attempt to occupy myself until they called me in.....
The call finally came at about 10:30 A.M.
As soon as I hung up the phone I went to find Aaron. He was of course in the bath having a relaxing morning:) His life was about to get crazy. I told him let's go! So he got out, we put finishing touches on the house, took the boys to Heather West's house and headed to the hospital.
Aaron was so excited, he was texting EVERYONE on the way to the hospital telling them baby was on her way!
This day was the day Madi has been waiting for! She was finally getting her sister and she wasn't about to miss out on the party leading up to it.
So, she came with us to the hospital to play the waiting game....
So excited for this day, but can't believe it is here!
I was so going to remember to take a picture before I changed into my gown. I obviously forgot to. This is me, 1 day short of 40 weeks pregnant!
At 11:00 A.M. We arrived at the hospital. I got dressed and all set up to get this party rolling.....The nurse asked me what I was when the Dr. last checked me on Thursday. I told her a fingertip. She said she was very surprised they kept the induction date. She asked some other questions then left. Dr. Winward came in and said, "You were only a fingertip on Thursday? I can't keep you here and induce you if that is all you were! The hospital has regulations so if you aren't farther along then that then we will have to send you home!" I couldn't believe she was telling me this! Russ and Nicole had come up from Vegas, Chase and Brianne and stayed down an extra day and Karen had flown in that morning. All expecting to see a baby by the end of this day. I got really nervous! Dr. said, "Well, let's check you!" I could tell I had made some progress I was just hoping it was enough. She said I was a 1+, then she stretched me to a 2. I was 50% effaced. She then said the magic words...."We'll keep you." I was SO relieved!! So was Aaron!
Once we knew we were staying we got everything rolling.
 At 12:00-noon-they started the pitocin.
About 12:30 P.M. Aaron, Madi and Karen left to get some lunch.
At 1:00 P.M. Dr. Came in and broke my water. Baby wasn't very happy so they put me on some oxygen. When Aaron and Madi walked in they were pretty surprised and asked me what was wrong. I told them the baby just wasn't happy. So they relaxed. It was cute:)
After my water was broke I knew the contractions would start coming harder so I called for the epidural. At about 2:00 P.M. The anesthesiologist came and did his magic. He had to do a poke twice which I don't remember the 2nd one? I must just be so tough:) He had to do that because it started bleeding back into the line which would cause an IV. That is not what we wanted of course. In the end it all worked out great! While I was getting the epidural they took the oxygen mask off and baby seemed to do fine so I was able to keep it off.  We even found out that Dr. Plumb-the anesthesiologist-is the guy that Aaron bought our lot from. Apparently they never met. Small World!
The party started and people started arriving to "Hang Out."
Grandma Smith, Heather, Christie, Brenden, Madi, Lexi, Jason, Bentley, Brianne, Chase, Grandpa Key, Hailee, Joanna with Addi on the floor in her car seat somewhere and Grandma Key.
My 2 biggest fans. Madi and Dad!
Nicole, Russ and Ryker-there is Addi!
At 2:30 P.M. I was checked again and was at a 4+.
At 3:45 P.M. I was at a 5.
At 5:00 P.M. People were starting to get hungry so we asked the nurse to come check me to see if we had time for everyone to go get some dinner. I was at a 6 so they all left.
I rested some while everyone was gone for an hour and just kind of hung out. In labors past, by the time I get to a 6 I go to a 10 in one hour or less so I thought I would have to call them back. Well, everyone got back and I wasn't feeling any pressure. I thought that was a little weird but carried on with  doing my thing-trying to get this baby out:)
When Aaron got back they checked me and said I was a 7. What? I've never been a 7 before I have always skipped 7,8,9 and been a 10! I thought this was odd. Dr. then came to check and said the baby was posterior. That answered my questions. So, they put my leg on this table to use gravity to get the baby to turn. She said she would probably be coming in about an hour after doing this trick.
The Dr. went home. I sat there for about 20 minutes and called for the nurse saying this baby is coming, let's do this! She came in didn't even hardly check me and said, "yep, I will call the Dr." She went and called the Dr......The nurse came back and said she didn't even have to tell the Dr. it was her, she knew right away but couldn't believe how fast the baby had turned.
All ready to get this little babe here!
Most of the party moved to the hall.
All but these 4.
I haven't had anyone but Aaron in the room with me with the other 4 babies I have had. But, we decided for this birth we would let our mom's in the room. I told them to stay behind my head but they didn't really obey the rules.
They were naughty:)
Poor Madison got pushed forward by Grandma Smith, which forced her to see WAY more than she wanted to. Madison went a little pale for about 20 minutes and all she would say is "That is so gross!" Poor Girl!!
Call me a bad mom but I did not want to do skin to skin.
I just don't like all my "stuff" to get on me. Especially because I usually can't get up to take a shower until the next morning.
Holding my sweet baby!
7lbs. 11oz.
Poor baby! It's so sad when all of a sudden they have all this room.
Not cozy at all!

I think Madi may have been coming out of shock at this point.
Just all cuddled up.

That's o.k. he will have plenty of time at home!
